In this year of the first parity Olympic Games of the modern era (there will be equal participation of male and female champions at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games), women's sport seems to be on a roll... But that's forgetting that women's sport only accounts for 4.5% of sports airtime on our French TV screens. And only two women are presidents of Olympic federations (out of 36 sports...). Even more worrying is the fact that twice as many girls aged 12 to 14 quit sport as boys.

Can sports storytelling, and documentaries in particular, help reverse these trends? Despite the meagre 12% representation of women in sports newsrooms... Documentaries can contribute to the growth of women's sport. In particular, by occupying the sports arena. Nothing must be overlooked to help bring women into the sporting arena, as a matter of well-being and equality. A social issue, then.
