LEAD CHRISTINE CAUQUELIN - PDFM ASSOCIATION
Theme: The place of women in the media and documentary sector.
Presentation
While the Deauville Sport Doc Festival promotes true parity between men's and women's sports documentaries, the balance isn't the same in television. And no more so in the documentary field than on TV sets.
The PDFM association produces statistics on the lack of women in TV. And promotes the quality of women's work in the audiovisual industry.
In particular, the world of sport is still lagging far behind. This includes sports documentaries, where women have yet to make their mark. Although women are increasingly the subject of documentaries, they don't often get the chance to direct or produce these films.
